Built for wind and hail.
Six seals, not three
Architectural shingles carry six rubberized adhesive seals: three laminate seals, which is 50 percent more than standard, two rain seals, double the standard, and a wind seal. The Windsor® designer shingle carries eight, including three wind seals.
Still flexible at 0°F
The SEBS adhesive stays flexible down to 0°F, so the seal holds through the freeze and thaw cycles an Ohio winter puts it through.
Class 4 impact
UL rates impact by dropping steel balls from up to twenty feet. Highlander® is Class 3. Vista® and Legacy® are Class 4, the highest rating possible.
Nine industry tests
Rain, hail, wind, fire, strength, and granule adhesion, tested by outside agencies including Underwriters Laboratories.
In the IBHS Hail Impact Study, Malarkey had two of only four shingles in the country to score Excellent or Good in every category. Highly rated shingles often qualify for a discount on your homeowners insurance, which is worth a call to your agent before you decide.
