What to Expect During Your Exterior Remodel

Roofing | Siding | Gutters

At Canopy Management, our goal is to make your exterior project as clear and organized as possible. Exterior construction is a significant undertaking, and understanding what to expect helps everything run more smoothly.

Before Work Begins

Site Preparation

Our team will take steps to protect your home and property. A dumpster or dump trailer will be placed on-site for debris removal. Landscaping, shrubs, and hard surfaces near work areas will be protected where possible, and sensitive areas will be covered when necessary.

Please let us know in advance if you have delicate landscaping, irrigation systems, decorative lighting, special outdoor fixtures, or sentimental or fragile property near the home. Clear communication before we begin helps us protect what matters most to you.

Interior Preparation

Exterior work can cause vibrations, especially during roofing tear-offs. We recommend removing wall hangings, mirrors, and fragile décor from exterior-facing walls. Fragile items on shelves should be secured, and attic belongings may be covered if dust is a concern.

During Construction

Expect Noise & Activity

Exterior remodels are active job sites. You can expect hammering and equipment noise, crew movement around the home, material deliveries, and periodic vibrations inside the house.

Debris & Clean-Up

Construction is inherently messy work. During roofing and siding projects in particular, there will be thousands of nails and fasteners, shingles, siding pieces, packaging materials, sawdust, dust, scrap metal, and trim materials present throughout the process.

We use magnets to collect loose nails and perform ongoing cleanup as the project progresses. A final jobsite sweep will be completed at the end of the project. However, it is normal to occasionally find stray debris in the days following completion. If you notice anything that concerns you, please let us know.

For everyone’s safety, children and pets should be kept indoors or away from active work areas. Please avoid walking near staging areas or dumpsters. Work zones should not be entered unless accompanied by a crew member.

Safety Considerations

Shingle tear-off can create vibration and falling debris. Gutters may be temporarily removed and reinstalled or replaced. Access to driveways may be limited during material loading and debris removal.

Portions of landscaping near the home may be temporarily disturbed. Power outlets and exterior fixtures may be temporarily removed and reinstalled. Downspouts may be disconnected during installation.

Communication & Questions

Your project manager is your primary point of contact throughout the process. If you ever have questions, concerns, or notice something unexpected, please speak directly with your project manager or call our office at any time. Clear communication is part of our process, and we encourage you to reach out.

Our Commitment to You

Exterior remodeling requires coordination, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. While construction can be disruptive for a short period of time, our goal is to keep the project organized, protect your property, and deliver work that looks and performs as it should.

We appreciate the trust you’ve placed in us and look forward to guiding your project through to completion.
